'Timelines' ~ The Sequel to Bloodlines
7th July 2026

So here I am, about to post the first chapter of the sequel!

I have never written a sequel for anything before, and it was quite daunting at first to plan out! Bloodlines garnered far more attention than I ever expected, and now I feel like I have a reputation to uphold. Planning took longer than I thought as I thought about all the plot hooks I left behind, places to further expand the lore of Bloodlines and tie everything together with some decent characters arcs.
The next story I'm about to slowly tell over the many weeks to come will feature a lot around the theme of loss and acceptance (Bloodlines' theme was greed), and it begins not long after where Bloodlines ended. Previously, I focused on the Fairy Tail films for inspiration. This time, it will actually be influenced a little by the anime filler arcs for some of it (really challenging myself a little on this one, aren't I?)
Anyway, the first act will be quite calm compared to the high action of Bloodline's final arc, and features a lot of what Natsu, Lucy, and their companions are getting up to next on their new adventure, all while being relatively carefree about it. There will be foreshadowing (as always) and I will be continuing to develop them both, and their relationship with it.
I have plotlines for most of the other characters too, throughout!

I'm also approaching this realistically. Not everyone who has read all of Bloodlines will be interested in a sequel, and reading it is required to understand what is happening in Timelines, so I will be going into this expecting a smaller readership. I really hope those who are in for the ride will enjoy it!
As it stands as of today, I have twelve chapter drafts so far and I can't yet say how many chapters there will be in total.

Looking further ahead, I don't see myself writing any more this AU once this is complete, other than a few short stories about the characters from time to time.

Oh, and one other thing. I may have written something very NSFW for nalu week and posted it anonymously. Since this fic is going up, I'll be unveiling myself as its creator shortly. I didn't want any readers following me to see it before the sequel and thinking, 'When I said I couldn't wait to see what you write next, this isn't exactly what I meant.'

Okay, okay, enough rambling. Back to writing (among other things).
